Reservations and Stays
How do I book accommodation at Karukera Sunset?
You can book directly online via our reservation platform (shared link with our campsite in Brittany). Alternatively, contact us by phone (+590 6 90 51 12 16), WhatsApp (+590 6 90 51 12 16), or email (info@gites-guadeloupe-caraibes.fr).
Don’t forget the time difference: -6 hours in summer and -5 hours in winter from mainland France. Our schedules fill up quickly, so book early!
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Arrival: From 4:00 PM
Departure: Before 11:00 AM
Arrival and departure days are flexible (no fixed day).
Can I modify or cancel my reservation?
Modification: Contact us directly for any changes.
Cancellation: Conditions depend on your reservation. Refer to the confirmation email you received or contact us for more details.
💡 We recommend taking out cancellation insurance for peace of mind.
What is the minimum stay duration?
The minimum stay is 2 nights for all our accommodations.
Accommodations and Facilities
What types of accommodations do you offer?
We offer:
- 4 apartments (70 m²) with 2 air-conditioned bedrooms, living room, sea-view terrace, and equipped kitchen (dishwasher, fridge, oven, Nespresso, etc.).
- 1 bungalow (Kay Maren): an air-conditioned room with a four-poster bed, sea-view terrace, and equipped outdoor kitchen (no dishwasher).
Are the accommodations accessible to people with reduced mobility?
Our accommodations are located on a sloped terrain with stairs. If you are traveling with people with reduced mobility, young children, or seniors, contact us before booking to discuss adapted solutions.
Are the accommodations air-conditioned?
Yes, all our accommodations (apartments and bungalow) are equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fans, and mosquito nets for your comfort.
Is household linen provided?
Yes, household linen (sheets, towels) is provided and changed weekly.
Baby equipment is also available upon request.
Rates and Payments
Quels sont les moyens de paiement acceptés ?
We accept payments by credit card, bank transfer, check, and cash.
Do the rates include tourist taxes?
No, tourist taxes (1.50 €/night/adult) are additional and must be paid on-site.
On-Site Facilities and Services
What facilities are available at Karukera Sunset?
- Saltwater pool (10.5 m x 5.5 m), spa, and sun loungers reserved for our guests.
- Free snorkeling gear rental (fins, masks, snorkels) to explore the Cousteau Reserve.
- Equipped kitchens (fridge, oven, Nespresso, etc.) in each accommodation.
- Free private parking on-site.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes, free Wi-Fi access is available in the accommodations.
Activities and Surroundings
What activities are available nearby?
- Diving and snorkeling: The Cousteau Reserve and Malendure Beach (1.3 km away) offer exceptional spots. We lend fins, masks, and snorkels.
- Hiking: Les Mamelles Park, Soufrière, Carbet Falls, etc.
- Cultural visits: Bouillante Market, Deshaies Botanical Garden, etc.
- Water activities: Kayaking, canyoning, glass-bottom boats (Nautilus).
Where can I rent a car?
Renting a car is essential in Guadeloupe. We recommend:

- Rentîles: Network of independent renters with airport delivery.
Pets
Are pets allowed?
Yes, pets are allowed under conditions (on a leash, up-to-date vaccinations). A supplement may apply. Contact us before your reservation.
Contact and Access
How do I get to Karukera Sunset?
Address: Morne Tarare, 97125 Bouillante, Guadeloupe.
Directions:
- Head towards Basse-Terre.
- Take the D23 towards Col des Mamelles (Pointe-Noire/Bouillante).
- At the stop sign facing the sea, turn left onto the N2 (towards Bouillante).
- Pass Malendure Beach and continue.
- 500 m after the La Touna restaurant, turn left (Morne Tarare sign), go up the hill, and park in our private parking lot.
